Sawyer Gepford grew up in Mustang, Oklahoma, after being born in Peoria, Illinois. Raised in a family with a strong background in aircraft maintenance, Sawyer became the first in his family to pursue a career as a professional pilot. After proudly serving six years in the United States Army, he enrolled at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology to turn his passion for aviation into a profession.

During his training at Spartan, Sawyer earned his Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate (Single- and Multi-Engine), Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII), Complex Endorsement, and later his High-Performance Endorsement.

As a flight instructor, Sawyer is passionate about creating a fun, safe, and encouraging learning environment where students can build confidence, develop strong aeronautical decision-making skills, and enjoy every step of their aviation journey. He believes every student deserves personalized instruction and strives to make each lesson both educational and rewarding. His goal is to inspire and mentor the next generation of aviators, helping them achieve their dreams while becoming safe, proficient, and confident pilots.
