Safety and Compliance
At Oklahoma Flight Academy, your safety is our highest priority. From the condition of our aircraft to the qualifications of our instructors, we are fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance. You can train with confidence knowing that every part of your experience meets or exceeds FAA and TSA requirements.
Aircraft Maintenance Standards
Our training fleet is maintained to strict FAA regulations, including required 100-hour inspections for all aircraft used for training. We comply with all FAA-mandated Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and our maintenance team performs regular preventative maintenance on every aircraft for each and every flight.
Instructor & Student Compliance
Every Certified Flight Instructor holds a valid medical certificate and completes regular flight reviews. Students can only solo with specific endorsements in designated aircraft. We strictly enforce FAA-mandated weather minimums for training flights, and additional endorsements are required before any night solo operations.
TSA Security Regulations
TSA security requirements for flight training:
U.S. citizens must present proof of citizenship (valid passport or birth certificate with government-issued photo ID) prior to starting flight training.
Non-U.S. citizens must complete TSA background vetting and receive approval before beginning flight lessons, as required by the Alien Flight Student Program (AFSP).
Our Commitment to You
At every stage of your training, we ensure you’re learning in a safe, controlled, and fully compliant environment. We take care of the details, so you can focus on building your skills, growing your confidence, and achieving your aviation goals.

In Memory of Dad: Honoring a Legacy, Inspiring a Future.
In Loving Memory of Gary Edwards
For as long as I can remember, aviation was a part of our lives. Within seconds, my Dad could tell you the make and model of nearly any aircraft he saw. Many times, he could even do so by only the sound.
Oklahoma Flight Academy is proudly dedicated to the memory of my dad, Gary Edwards — an aviation engineer, skilled pilot, and lifelong enthusiast of all things flight. His passion for aviation was matched only by his commitment to excellence and curiosity for the skies.
Dad’s legacy lives on in every lesson taught, every aircraft flown, and every student inspired to pursue the freedom of flight. His love for aviation laid the foundation for this Academy, and his spirit continues to guide us in our mission to train safe, skilled, and passionate aviators.
He would be so proud of what we have created.
Blue Skies and Tailwinds Dad.
Love and miss you.
