High-Performance Aircraft Endorsement
Handle Increased Power and Complexity
A High-Performance Aircraft Endorsement is required for pilots who want to operate airplanes with engines producing more than 200 horsepower. These aircraft offer greater speed and climb performance but require additional training to handle their increased power and complexity. The endorsement includes both ground and flight instruction covering performance characteristics, engine management, and emergency procedures. While there’s no minimum number of hours set by the FAA, most pilots complete the high-performance endorsement requirements in just a few hours of flight training, depending on proficiency. Once endorsed by your instructor, you’ll be cleared to enjoy the power and capability of high-performance aircraft.
